Job Overview

We are seeking a creative, strategic, and results-driven Social Media Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing impactful digital and social media campaigns that enhance brand visibility, increase engagement, and support our immigration and education services.

This role requires a strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, analytics, e-commerce trends, and visual design. The successful candidate will be adept at producing high-quality content, managing paid digital campaigns, and optimizing online presence through SEO-driven strategies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic & Creative Duties

  • Plan, develop, and implement social media and digital marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Create, curate, and schedule engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Use scheduling tools such as Hootsuite and Buffer to manage posts.
  • Design eye-catching graphics and visual content using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proofread all content for accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency before publishing.
  • Monitor social media trends and apply best practices in digital engagement.

Advertising, SEO & Analytics

  • Manage paid advertising campaigns, including Facebook Ads, to increase reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Conduct keyword research and apply SEO techniques to improve content discoverability.
  • Apply on-page SEO techniques (meta descriptions, titles, alt tags, internal links, page structure).
  • Track performance using Google Analytics and prepare detailed monthly performance reports.

Website & CMS Management

  • Maintain and update the company website using a CMS.
  • Create and edit webpages using pre-designed CMS templates (no coding required).
  • Conduct routine website performance checks and coordinate with external developers for advanced tasks.

Collaboration & Outreach

  • Work closely with the marketing team on campaigns, email marketing, PR initiatives, and influencer partnerships.
  • Support community outreach activities and media partnerships.
  • Promote environmentally responsible digital practices (Green Job designation).

Additional Digital Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on emerging trends in e-commerce, SEO, digital advertising, and social media marketing.
  • Collaborate with design, media, and technology vendors to improve digital output and brand reach.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or related roles.
  • Strong graphic design skills; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and keyword research strategies.
  • Experience using social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Knowledge of Facebook Advertising and other paid social media campaigns.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and ability to track and report on performance metrics.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in e-commerce is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Passion for creative digital engagement and innovative online outreach.
